Where on the ladder
Level 5 to Level 6
Each level below lists the leagues this club plays in. Your kid's level depends on the team they make. The six levels are our own reading of public league play. They are not an official ranking.
Sanctioned by California Youth Soccer Association (Cal North) (US Youth Soccer). The club’s site also lists US Club Soccer. We have not confirmed that from the body’s own member list, so we do not call the club sanctioned. It also lists NorCal Premier League. We have not placed that league on the ladder, so it does not count above.

The programs, age by age
These come from the club's site, grouped the way the club groups them. Your kid starts in the one that fits their age.
Bumblebees
U4 (Under 4)
A fun introduction to the game of soccer for both players and parents. Players engage in a safe, fun, and rewarding environment; there are no games at this stage.
Grasshoppers
U5-U6 · 4v4
A non-competitive introduction to soccer that builds the foundation for a child's future soccer enjoyment and development. Training is run by volunteer coaches with 24-7 professional coaches on site.
Academy
U7-U8 · 5v5
This program builds upon the technical skills learned in the Grasshopper program and introduces basic concepts to help players learn and understand the game while maximizing touches on the ball. The main priority is always to make each session a fun learning environment.
TOPSoccer
Open to All Ages
A recreational sports program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities. CVSC TOPSoccer provides a safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive structured environment, with athletes placed on teams according to ability, not age.
Competitive Program
U8-U12
The Competitive Program offers players the opportunity to train and compete at a higher level than the Recreational Program in a supportive, family-friendly environment. At younger ages, the club focuses on ball mastery and fun, with winning as a secondary goal.

U11-U12 Recreational
U11-U12 · 9v9
The program emphasizes core skills and uses 9v9 team sizes as building blocks toward the 11v11 format. Players are challenged to make decisions, learn new skills, and apply them in games.
U13-U19 Recreational (Super Rec)
U13-U19 · 11v11
This stage transitions players to the 11v11 game and provides an enjoyable, challenging environment for players at all ability levels. Games take place across the South East Bay area and are scheduled by the recreational soccer governing body, not CVSC.
