San Juan South Soccer Club and Elite Soccer Academy 209 were established to appeal to those players who are looking to experience college-level training from a variety of exceptional coaches in their local community.

Level 2 to Level 3
Each level below lists the leagues this club plays in. Your kid's level depends on the team they make. The six levels are our own reading of public league play. They are not an official ranking.
Sanctioned by US Club Soccer. The club also played in NPL. That league ended in July 2026 and merged into National 1, so it does not count above. The club’s site also lists National Premier League, NorCal Premier Soccer. We have not placed those leagues on the ladder, so they do not count above.

Youth Director of Coaching

Carmen Padilla has over ten years of coaching experience including at the youth and collegiate level. She was a member of the Mexican National Soccer Team from 2000-2008.
She has a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.A. in Health Exercise and Sport Sciences.

Michelle Coleman
President
2010 and 2011 Head Coach
Michelle Coleman returns for her 6th season with San Juan South. She is primarily responsible for individual instruction and team development. She is a member of the San Joaquin Delta College coaching staff and was the St. Mary’s High School Head Coach.
Coleman graduated in 1994 from Chico State with a degree in physical education.

Keith Coleman begins his 5th year with San Juan South. He spent 22 years as the Head Coach at the University of the Pacific and is on the Coaching Staff for the 2016 and 2017 WPSL Northern California Champion California Storm.
Alejandro Barajas

2015-16 Boys Team
Alejandro Barajas begins his 5th year with San Juan South. He is a Founder of the Elite Skills Academy and a current member of the Elite Coaching Staff. In 2011 and 2012, he was an Assistant on the University of the Pacific coaching staff, focusing on individual player development and training the teams Keepers.

Jan Eric Nordmo
Coach
Jan begins his 4th year with San Juan South. His participation in soccer has spanned over 45 years with both youth and adult accolades. His focus the past 30 years have been in coaching and coaching education. His experience spans youth club, high school, college, amateur men’s and women’s programs, Olympic Development Programs, and semi-professional programs in the NPSL.
Masters’ Degree in Recreational and Sports Science with an emphasis in Coaching Education
