Official Visit

A campus visit the college is allowed to pay for.

On an official visit the college covers travel, meals and lodging, which is why the NCAA limits when they can happen and requires Eligibility Center registration first. For soccer, D1 official visits open August 1 before junior year and D2’s open June 15 before junior year, one paid visit per school. An unofficial visit is one your family pays for. Touring a campus as an ordinary applicant is unrestricted, but at D1 anything the athletics staff is part of also waits until August 1 before junior year.
