Play-Up
A player competing in an older age group.
"Playing up" means competing in an age group above the one your birthday puts you in. US Club Soccer permits it without restriction; US Youth Soccer sets no national rule and leaves it to each state association. Whether it helps a particular player is not measured anywhere, so treat any confident claim about it as opinion.
