Structure
Promotion and Relegation
Moving a team or club up or down between competition levels on results.
Several US youth operators run it inside their own pathways. US Club Soccer reports nearly 230 clubs promoted from the NPL toward ECNL competition over five seasons, and 37 boys and 21 girls clubs promoted from ECNL Regional League to ECNL over four cycles. It is the clearest published evidence of which competitions an operator considers higher than which.
