Verbal Commitment
A non-binding agreement to attend a college and play there.
A verbal commitment is a player’s spoken agreement to attend a school, made before they are allowed to sign anything. The NCAA states plainly that it is not binding on the player or the school. It becomes binding only when the player signs the school’s written offer of athletics aid, which in soccer cannot happen before the second Wednesday in November of senior year.
