Early Man
All agesBest for whole familyIMDb 6.1Free
A Stone Age tribe loses its valley to a Bronze Age city and gets one way to win it back, a football match against the champions. Dug and his tribe of hopeless amateurs have to learn the game from scratch, in stop-motion, from the studio behind Wallace and Gromit.
Why we picked it
It is the rare animated film where the soccer is the plot rather than the backdrop, and the whole middle of the movie is beginners being coached from clueless to competent. The final match is played straight enough that a kid who plays will recognize every moment of it.
