Aoashi
Ashito Aoi is a striker from a small town in Ehime who gets invited to trials for the youth academy of a Tokyo J-League club. He makes it in and then discovers that everything that made him a star at home counts for almost nothing among boys who have been trained since they were eight.
No other show on this list depicts an academy the way this one does: the trial, the residence, the position change he did not ask for, and the players who get released. A 13-year-old thinking about a higher level will learn more about what that actually demands here than from any highlight reel. A second season is scheduled for October 2026.
