Victory Kickoff!!

8–12Best for kidsIMDb 7.6

Sixth-grader Shou's team folds when too many players quit, so he sets out to rebuild it, recruiting classmates one at a time and talking a retired women's pro into coaching them. Thirty-nine episodes follow the Momoyama Predators from nothing to a real team.

Why we picked it

This is the closest thing on the list to actual youth soccer: an under-12 side, a real coach teaching real ideas, and matches decided by positioning and effort instead of magic. Kids see themselves in it in a way Captain Tsubasa's superhuman shots do not allow.
