Six Dreams
Six Dreams follows six people through a season in Spain's top division: three players, a coach, a sporting director and a club president. Andrés Guardado is the name most American viewers will know. The camera spends as much time on contract talks, rehab and kitchen tables as on match days. A second season, Back to Win, picks the same idea up after the 2020 shutdown.
It is the one series here that gives a sporting director and a club president as much screen time as the players, so a kid sees who actually decides which players a club keeps. It also shows a Spanish development culture that runs on different assumptions from the English clubs most of these series follow.
