Bobby Robson: More Than a Manager
Gabriel Clarke and Torquil Jones follow Bobby Robson from Ipswich Town through the England job, Barcelona and Newcastle, alongside the cancer he was treated for again and again and the research foundation he set up before he died. Former players and colleagues do most of the talking. It won the Sports Journalists' Association television award and holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from six reviews.
Almost every other film here is about a player. This one is about the adult in charge, and it is the clearest picture on the list of what a good coach does for the people who work for him. Worth putting on with a kid who is about to meet a new coach, or who has just had a bad one.
