This BBC film tells the true story of Manchester United's young "Busby Babes" and the 1958 Munich air disaster that killed eight players. It follows assistant manager Jimmy Murphy (David Tennant) and survivor Bobby Charlton (Jack O'Connell) as the shattered club tries to rebuild. It is a quiet, moving tribute rather than a match-action film.
Why we picked it
A gentle entry point into one of football's defining tragedies and the resilience that followed, good for older kids learning the sport's history alongside a parent.
