In 1984 Manchester, a retired Sir Matt Busby (Brian Cox) discovers that a cheeky 11-year-old pickpocket named Georgie is a gifted footballer, and agrees to coach the boy's scrappy youth team. It is a gentle, old-fashioned underdog story about mentorship and second chances. Reviews were mixed, but it plays well for younger viewers.
Why we picked it
A kid-friendly youth-soccer story about coaching, belief, and character that is an easy watch for younger players and the parents cheering from the sideline.
