Bend It Like Beckham
13+Best for tweens & teensIMDb 6.7Free
Jess is a British Indian teen in London who idolizes David Beckham and secretly joins a women's team while her tradition-minded parents push a different future. She and teammate Jules chase real playing dreams and a shot at a US scholarship. Family expectations, friendship, and the pull of the game all collide.
Why we picked it
It is the touchstone girls' soccer film, and it gets a family talking about balancing a kid's passion with family hopes and cultural expectations.
