When her school cuts the girls' soccer team, Viola disguises herself as her twin brother and takes his place at his new school so she can try out for the boys' team and prove she can play. The disguise sets off a tangle of mistaken identities and crushes, loosely inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

Why we picked it

Soccer sits at the center of the whole plot, and the setup opens a natural conversation about girls fighting for equal footing in the game and what it takes to be taken seriously on the field.
