The Cup
All agesBest for whole familyIMDb 6.9Free
At a Tibetan monastery in exile in the Himalayas, soccer-obsessed young monks scheme to rent a television so they can watch the 1998 World Cup final. Their quiet campaign to raise the money and win over their elders drives the whole gentle comedy. Nearly the entire cast is made up of real monks.
Why we picked it
It is the rare soccer film the whole family can watch together, and it shows how the World Cup reaches even the most remote corner of the world.
