Pelé: Birth of a Legend
8–12Best for kidsIMDb 7.1Free
The film traces Pelé from a poor childhood playing barefoot street soccer in Brazil to the 1958 World Cup as a teenager. Much of it centers on his fight to keep the improvised "ginga" style that coaches wanted him to abandon. It is a family-friendly biopic of the sport's most famous name.
Why we picked it
Young players see where a signature playing style comes from and that Pelé started with nothing but a homemade ball, which lands well with kids who dream big.
