Next Goal Wins
13+Best for tweens & teensIMDb 6.5
Down-on-his-luck coach Thomas Rongen takes over the American Samoa national team, known for a 31-0 loss and never scoring in a World Cup qualifier. He arrives expecting to fix them and slowly learns the team has its own idea of what winning looks like. Taika Waititi's comedy is based on the real 2011 qualifying campaign.
Why we picked it
It is a gentle underdog story about a team that just wants a single goal, a good reminder for kids that effort and joy can matter more than the final score.
