Reagan Wills is 13 and gets cut from her elite club team, and after a knock on the head she starts seeing her hero Alex Morgan, who nobody else can see. Morgan pushes her through training and Reagan joins the Breakaways, a team of other kids who were cut, before facing her old club in a cup final. Alex Morgan plays herself in her first acting role.
Why we picked it
Getting cut is the most common thing that happens to a youth player and hardly any film is about it, so this is worth the modest reviews for a kid who just got the news.
