Copa 71 tells the story of the 1971 unofficial Women's World Cup in Mexico, which drew crowds above 100,000 and was then written out of the record books. Former players from Mexico, England, Argentina, Denmark, France and Italy look back on the tournament decades later. It is executive produced by Serena and Venus Williams and Alex Morgan.
Why we picked it
It shows girls that women filled huge stadiums for soccer more than 50 years ago, long before the modern game got its due. The forgotten-history angle sparks good conversations about who gets remembered in sports and why.
